Terms and Conditions of Sale

These terms govern the sale of subscriptions to GL Marine Apps, the web apps for marine surveyors and deck officers. By starting the free trial or paying for a subscription you accept these terms. The Italian version is the legally binding one.

2. What we sell

We sell subscription access to the GL Marine Apps. The apps run in the browser and are not installed from an app store. The apps included in each plan are listed on the GL Marine Apps page. The service is digital: nothing is shipped.

3. Account and free trial

You need an account in your own name or your company's name. You are responsible for your login details and for what is done with your account.
Every new account gets a 14-day free trial, with no payment and no card required.
When the trial ends without a subscription, you can still view the data already saved but cannot create new data.

4. Prices and payment

The price of each plan, monthly or yearly, is given to you before purchase and shown on the payment page.
For private customers, prices include VAT. For business customers, VAT is applied under the rules in force, including reverse charge for businesses in other EU countries.
Payment is made online by card or the other methods offered, through Stripe. We never see or store your card details.
We issue an invoice for every payment.

5. Renewal and cancellation

The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period (month or year) and is charged to the same card.
You can cancel at any time by writing to enquiries@glmarinesurveyors.com, or yourself from the customer portal. Cancelling stops future renewals; access stays active until the end of the period already paid.
If we change the price, we tell you by email at least 30 days before your renewal. You can cancel before the new price applies.

6. Refunds and right of withdrawal

If you ask for a refund within 14 days of your first payment, we refund the full amount, no questions asked. This applies to all customers, businesses included.
If you are a consumer, this refund includes your right of withdrawal under Articles 52 and following of the Italian Consumer Code (Legislative Decree 206/2005).
After those 14 days, and for renewals, periods already started are not refunded. Cancellation takes effect from the next period.
Refunds are made to the original payment method within 14 days of your request.

7. Fair use

Your subscription lets you use the apps for your own work, for the number of users in your plan. You may not resell or copy the apps, or share your login with people outside your company.
The calculator apps can work offline for up to 30 days. After that, an internet connection is needed to check the subscription.
We may suspend an account used in breach of these terms or of the law.

8. Liability

The apps are tools that support the work of surveyors and officers. Calculations and reports must be checked by the person who signs them, who remains responsible for their professional work.
We do our best to keep the service available and correct, but there may be interruptions for maintenance or because of our providers.
To the extent permitted by law, our liability towards business customers is limited to the amount paid in the last 12 months. This limit does not apply in case of wilful misconduct or gross negligence, and does not reduce consumers' statutory rights.

9. Your data

The data you enter in the apps remain yours. You can export them as PDF at any time. After an account is closed we keep the data for 90 days and then delete them, except documents we must keep by law. How we process personal data is explained in our Privacy Policy.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We tell you about important changes by email at least 30 days in advance. The date of the latest version is shown at the top of the page.

11. Governing law and jurisdiction

These terms are governed by Italian law. Disputes with consumers fall under the court of the consumer's place of residence. Disputes with business customers fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the Court of Ragusa, Italy.
